KUDOS TO LASUITES AS STUDENT WINS FIRST PRIZE AWARD AT PROJECT EXHIBITION


LASU COMPUTER SCIENCE FIRST CLASS STUDENT WINS DON ETIEBET'S PRIZE FOR BEST COMPUTER SCIENCE STUDENTS' PROJECT IN TERTIARY INSTITUTION IN LAGOS STATE 

One of the outstanding 400L, Computer Science Students, Faculty of Science, Lagos State University, Sola Olabanjo, has won the Best B.Sc. Computer Science Students' Projects Award for Tertiary Institutions in Lagos State. The award was sponsored by a former Minister of Petroleum, Chief  Don Etiebet.

The project "Design and Implementation of administrative e-memo for tertiary institutions-A case study of Lagos State University" supervised by the Head, Computer Science Department, Prof. Benjamin S. Aribisala, carted home the top prize at the competition, the high flying student, Olabanjo, received a plaque, certificate, and a token of money for his act. Two students of UNILAG were second and third respectively.

Interestingly, the only final year Computer Science student project submitted for the first time in the Department of Computer Science, Lagos State University won the top prize in Lagos.

The software "e-memo" according to the HOD, Computer Science, is useful for any organization to
communicate electronically, "... it is the first software developed at the department, to be tested at Faculty levels and thereafter, will be forwarded to the University Management" Prof. Aribasala stated.
